Our Lap Harps were designed especially for portability! We have two models, The Traveller and the Therapy Harp. Both models now have a rounded point as per the picture.

The Therapy Harp: This harp has 25 strings range from C3 to F6, giving a full octave below middle C.

This harp's specifications were formulated to meet the needs of harp therapists. It allows great portability with a beautiful sound in the mid-range of the sound spectrum - neither too high nor too low. This means it provides a pleasant auditory experience for elderly and ill people as well as providing a more useful range of notes for performing. It is light and strong. It can be ordered with the standard stringing for a full voiced instrument, or with lighter gauge strings for a lighter sound and feel, as may be required in some clinical settings.

As in all our harps, the Therapy Harp has a solid edge-glued spruce sound board for acoustic quality, and the neck and pillar are made of hard wood. It weighs 8 pounds. The pillar is 36 inches; the neck is 21. The sound board is 11 inches wide at the bottom and the sound box back is 26 inches long. The bottom of the harp has an acute box angle which allows for an extended sound board while keeping the sound box small and comfortable to hold on your lap. It comes with a guitar strap which is used to support the harp while sitting or standing.

The Therapy Harp is also a versatile instrument for beginners and more advanced harpists who wish to have a small harp.

The Traveller Lap Harp: This harp is a size suitable for enthusiastic harp players who wish to take a small harp with them when travelling. Its 25 strings range from G3 - C7 -  four and a half octaves of a full bright-bodied sound that will rival many "bigger" harps. The bottom of the harp has an acute box angle which allows for an extended sound board while keeping the sound box small and comfortable to hold on your lap. It comes with a guitar strap, and fits into overhead bins on planes.

With its G below middle C, it has enough strings to be a useful introductory instrument as well. One can learn all the basic harp playing techniques and even perform concerts with this delightful small instrument.

As in all our harps, the Traveller has a solid edge-glued spruce sound board for acoustic quality, and the neck and pillar are made of hard wood. It weighs 6 pounds. The pillar is 32 inches; the neck is 19. The sound board is 11 inches wide at the bottom and the sound box back is 26 inches long.
